Job summary

The Salvation Army Canada and Bermuda Territory is seeking a Permanent Weekend Residential Worker to provide a safe, supportive environment for residents in a shelter setting. The role runs Saturday to Monday, 6:00am–10:00am, focusing on monitoring safety, intake and discharge, and crisis support.

You will document care, coordinate programming, liaise with police and community partners, and contribute to dignity and respect in daily interactions.

Qualifications

• Addictions counselling education or related diploma is required.
• Minimum one year frontline social service experience.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to The Salvation Army mission and OH&S policies.

Responsibilities

• Monitors environment and clients/residents to ensure safety and security.
• Develops and implements case management and discharge plans.
• Maintains documentation and incident logs; completes required reports.
• Coordinates and facilitates resident programming as required.
• Performs intake and discharge procedures for residents.
• Liaises with police, funders, court personnel and community agencies.
