Position Summary
Assist the leadership team with project-level monitoring, reporting, and compliance related to the Maintenance Rating Program (MRP) and the Safety Plan. Provide leadership on health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSE) requirements for the project.
Note: This position does not start until 2025.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Set the HSE standards and lead by example, fostering a collaborative mindset rather than an enforcement approach.
- Serve as an HSE subject matter expert for project/site operational leadership.
- Lead and coach proper techniques for conducting Job Safety Analysis, crew meetings, safety talks, and lessons learned reviews.
- Conduct worksite HSE observations to ensure compliance with regulations and company, project, and site requirements.
- Mentor and coach staff to address HSE issues, documenting observations in the safety management system.
- Assist in developing and updating the Project or Site-Specific HSE Plan, incorporating lessons learned and corrective actions.
- Support the development of Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and JSA documents.
- Assist in conducting HSE training and meetings, ensuring documentation in the learning management system.
- Participate in investigations of incidents, root cause analysis, and communicate lessons learned.
- Track HSE statistics to inform improvement initiatives and report to leaders.
- Provide emergency care and first aid as needed, managing cases and supporting return-to-work programs.
- Support the implementation of the Corporate Fit for Duty Program.
- Maintain HSEQ administrative files and inventory of supplies.
- Communicate daily activities to stakeholders.
- Ensure safety is prioritized in all work activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

- Manage multiple priorities with a customer service focus.
- Attention to detail.
- Pass DMV, background, and drug screening.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Education and Experience
- 2+ years in infrastructure or maintenance industry.
- 1+ years in construction or general industry HSE leadership.
- Associate degree/college diploma or working toward a Bachelor's in a safety-related field (or equivalent experience).
- Working toward or possession of a professional HSE credential (e.g., ASP, CSP, CRSP, OHST).
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Work Conditions/Physical Demands
- Ability to walk at least one mile on rugged terrain and lift 35 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to reach, bend, squat, climb, stand, and sit in various environments.
- Must wear PPE as required.
- Make sound decisions in loud, congested environments with hazards.
- Available 24/7 for rapid response during critical operations.
