Canada Life is seeking a Director of Technical Solutions to lead the Individual Wealth Technology delivery and support. You will partner with business and technology teams to conceive, propose and deliver high-quality technology solutions, while mentoring a team and driving execution excellence.

Qualifications

• Degree/diploma in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• A minimum of 10+ years’ related experience delivering technology platforms and projects.
• Ideal candidate has Wealth domain experience in Canadian financial services.
• Experience managing through change and driving execution excellence.
• Excellent leadership with ability to hire, train, and engage teams.
• Ability to create clarity in ambiguity and respond quickly to urgency.
• Proven track record of challenging the status quo and driving improvements.
• Experience in complex, fast-evolving environments with high expectations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Hands-on capability with strategic/business mindset.

Responsibilities

• Act as trusted advisor to business & technology stakeholders to evolve, optimise and stabilise applications.
• Lead partnerships with stakeholders to understand priorities and roadmaps.
• Direct people leadership and talent development within the team.
• Oversee delivery of technology projects and large work packages with measurable outcomes.
• Create and manage metrics dashboards to drive decisions on productivity and costs.
• Ensure availability of applications and resources aligned to support needs.
• Coordinate escalations to resolve user incidents and issues.
• Stay current on industry trends and best practices.
