Job summary

Port Hope is seeking a Water/Wastewater Inspector to coordinate PHAI project requirements for municipal water and wastewater infrastructure, ensuring inspections, permits and approvals align with regulatory standards. You will oversee contractor activities and maintain compliance across design, safety and municipal requirements.

The role requires OIC certification, knowledge of MOECC rules, and experience in water distribution, treatment and wastewater collection.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education is an asset.
• OIC certification per Ontario regs and related licenses.
• Knowledge of MOECC Safe Drinking Water Act and AWWA standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate PHAI project requirements for municipal water and wastewater infrastructure, including review of design plans, inspections and permits.
• Ensure regulatory permits and approvals are obtained for planned activities.
• Inspect installations and verify compliance with design and regulations; oversee contractor work.
