Job summary

The Municipality of Port Hope is seeking a Municipal Infrastructure Engineer to review development proposals and guide growth-related infrastructure planning in a community poised for growth around the Port Hope nuclear project.

Key duties include coordinating with water, wastewater and development services, and ensuring municipal standards and legislation are met across subdivision, site plans and Official Plan updates.

Qualifications

• University degree in Civil Engineering with knowledge of municipal guidelines.
• Familiarity with Ontario acts and Federal/Provincial legislation affecting municipal engineering.
• Experience with land use planning and infrastructure planning is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides engineering reviews of subdivision/condominium plans and site plan developments.
• Comments on engineering requirements for subdivision agreements and site plans.
• Guides municipal staff and developers during construction phases.
• Ensures procedures and standards comply with legislated requirements.
• Approves final engineering design drawings for subdivision projects and comments on changes.
• Coordinates with Development Services and Water & Wastewater Services on capital projects.
• Manages development-related reports and integrates data into GIS systems.
• Develops and oversees policies related to development and infrastructure.
