Job summary

Municipality of Port Hope is seeking a Water/Wastewater Inspector to coordinate PHAI project requirements for municipal water and wastewater infrastructure. You will review plans, inspect work, obtain permits, and oversee contractors to ensure compliance with municipal, provincial and federal standards.

You’ll communicate with PHAI contractors and engineers daily, maintain records, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance. A valid certificate and MOECC knowledge are highly valued in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in related field would be an asset.
• Experience with Water Distribution, Water Treatment, and Wastewater Collection is required or asset.
• Knowledge of MOECC Safe Drinking Water Act and related regulations is required or asset.
• Valid operator certifications as noted would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Administer and coordinate PHAI project requirements related to municipal water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Review design plans, inspect, and obtain approvals and permits; oversee contractors to ensure compliance with standards.
• Inspect installations and confirm permits are adequate and work meets municipal and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate daily with PHAI contractors and design engineers to address inquiries and inform municipal staff.
