Job summary

AWC Water Solutions Ltd. is seeking an intermediate Electrical Engineer to support the design and fabrication teams, bringing professionalism to the communities we serve in water and wastewater projects.

The successful candidate will size electrical equipment, lead electrical aspects of projects, review documents for compliance, and collaborate with I&C teams while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Post secondary degree in electrical engineering.
• Active P.Eng registration in Alberta.
• 5–10 years of experience sizing and selecting process electrical equipment.
• Strong communication and written skills.
• Experience with process electrical equipment is an asset.
• Proficient in MS Office; Autodesk experience is an asset.
• Eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis to size electrical equipment that meets client specifications, codes and standards.
• Act as electrical lead on projects.
• Review engineering documents and verify compliance of electrical equipment to client specs and codes.
• Collaborate with I&C design and fabrication teams to verify equipment sizing.
• Assist in prototype creation and testing to validate the design.
• Review fabrication drawings and BOMs and support change orders.
• Participate in client meetings to assist project managers.
• Evaluate and recommend cost-effective design options without sacrificing quality.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.
• Stay updated with industry practices through training and self-improvement.
