Job summary

The City of Brooks is seeking a Utility Foreman to supervise water, irrigation and wastewater operations. The role ensures a safe potable water supply, proper operation of all utility systems and compliance with standards.

The incumbent will manage staff, schedules and budgets, and coordinate maintenance and emergency responses. Qualifications include a High School Diploma, Water Operator's certificate, and supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Plans, coordinates and supervises the operational activities for water distribution, irrigation, wastewater and stormwater.
• Prepares shift schedules and standby rosters.
• Supervises staff and directs safety procedures and budget.
• Maintains compliance with Environment Canada / health authority standards.
• Maintains required certifications and licenses for the role.
• Manages inventory, purchases and repairs within approved procedures.
• Responds to alarms and emergencies as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Operates water distribution, wastewater and storm water facilities and equipment.
• Monitors water quality and administers chemicals as appropriate.
• Responds to alarms and after-hours emergencies.
• Maintains records, prepares reports and supports budgeting.
• Performs preventative maintenance and relevant inspections.
