Job summary

Dillon Consulting Limited seeks an Intermediate Water Resources Engineer to join our Oakville office. You will lead hydraulic modelling, develop stormwater and water resources designs, and mentor junior staff in a collaborative, client-facing environment.

You will work on municipal infrastructure projects across Canada, using InfoWorks ICM, PCSWMM, AutoCAD and ArcGIS to model and report findings. Strong communication and project management skills are essential, with a professional engineer

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in civil or environmental engineering.
• 5+ years’ relevant experience in a consulting environment or municipal infrastructure projects in Canada.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong understanding of municipal and provincial design standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Visual OTTHYMO, PCSWMM (1D/2D), HEC-RAS (1D/2D), HEC-HMS, and related computer models.
• Understanding of sanitary system model calibration for both dry and wet-weather flows.
• Excellent communication, report writing, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.

• Excellent initiative and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead hydraulic modelling assignments for municipal clients using complex modelling software.
• Model, analyse, and interpret hydrologic and hydraulic results with 1D/2D tools (InfoWorks ICM, PCSWMM).
• Develop and implement stormwater management strategies for development projects.
• Provide technical input for water resources design and reporting.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to project management and client communication.
