Job summary

SLR Consulting (Canada) seeks a Hydrology Modeler to join our Hydrogeology and Hydrology team. You will compile climate and hydrological data, develop and calibrate models, and deliver water balance and contaminant load models using GoldSim.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelors in water resources engineering or hydrology, an MSc with modeling focus, 3+ years of relevant experience, and proficiency in GIS, R/Python, and hydraulic modelling tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in water resources engineering, hydrology or relevant discipline.
• Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in hydrology with modeling specialization.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Compile, process, and evaluate climate and hydrological data with QA/QC.
• Perform hydrological frequency analyses for droughts and extreme events.
• Develop conceptual hydrological models and define catchments and boundary conditions.
• Develop, calibrate, and validate hydrological models for gauged and ungauged watersheds.
• Build and update water balance models using GoldSim.
• Modify water balance models for site changes and rainfall scenarios.
• Develop site-wide contaminant load or water quality models in GoldSim.
• Conduct sensitivity analyses to evaluate model assumptions.
• Interpret results and communicate methodologies and findings to teams and clients.
