Job summary

Stantec offers an internship in water resources with hands-on experience across planning, design, and construction of water infrastructure projects in Canada. You will support project administration, data gathering, and technical tasks under experienced practitioners.

Applicants are pursuing a Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering with exposure to water/wastewater systems; strong MS Office skills and good communication are expected.

Qualifications

• In progress toward earning a Bachelor's degree (minimum) in civil or environmental engineering (or related field).
• Specific coursework or exposure to planning, design, construction of water and wastewater systems.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in project administration including writing reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, and completing progress reports
• Assisting technical staff with various project tasks, including researching, compiling and evaluating project data, preparing reports and performing calculations for water and wastewater treatment projects and/or sewer or tunnel design projects
• Performing simple calculations, computer data entry, along with some exposure to CAD, GIS, design and cross-training
• Performing research and contacting vendors for information
• Complete other engineering/administrative duties as required
