Job summary

Stantec is seeking Co-op Students in Ottawa, Ontario for a 4-8 month term starting January 2027. You will assist engineers and designers with field and office tasks, including research, reporting, and preliminary to detailed designs of municipal infrastructure.

You will gain practical skills, grow your network, and work alongside experienced practitioners on water/wastewater projects, with exposure to modeling, surveying, and regulatory considerations.

Qualifications

• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction.
• Knowledge of provincial and federal regulations, policies, and programs is a plus.
• In progress toward earning a Bachelor's degree in civil, water resources or environmental engineering or related field.
• Coursework or exposure to planning, design, construction of water/wastewater infrastructure, and environmental processes.

Responsibilities

• Assisting engineers and designers in field and office tasks including research, writing reports, and preliminary to detailed designs of municipal infrastructure.
• Support data processing, surveying, modeling and project documentation.
• Participate in the design of water/wastewater facilities and infrastructure projects.
• Contribute to compliance with regulatory requirements and project schedules.

Our Water group is seeking Co-op Students to join our team in the Ottawa, ON office for a4-8 month term starting in January 2027.

Your Key Responsibilities

Assistingthe engineers and designers in a variety of field and office assignments that include research,writingreports, conceptual,preliminaryand detailed designs of municipal infrastructure, pumping stations, water/wastewater treatment plants,sewers, watermains, roads,surveying, field inspections, data processing, modeling etc.

Education and Experience

In progress toward earning aBachelor'sdegree (minimum) in civil, water resources or environmental engineering or related field.

Specific coursework or exposure to one or more of the following: Planning, design, construction of water/wastewater infrastructure, and construction management, Environmental water/wastewater treatment processes, Advanced and emerging technologies.

Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk forlong periodsof time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency:In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
