Job summary

Emterra Group is seeking a General Labourer to perform safe sorting, cleaning, and material handling to support plant operations. This role suits reliable, physically capable individuals who can work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will follow safety policies, use PPE, and maintain a clean work area while contributing to a culture of safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform repetitive/physical tasks for extended periods and lift items up to 25 lb.
• Effective interpersonal skills to communicate, understand and respond to questions, instructions, signs, signals and safety training.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment which varies based on weather conditions.
• Diversity is a key value to the organization and working collaboratively with others is a must.
• Able to work under time lines; work well with little supervision and take direction from direct supervisor; be punctual and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in a safe manner in compliance with all Company policies.
• Ensure PPE equipment is utilized.
• Inspect materials and sort items or materials into designated areas.
• Pull contaminants from sorting line.
• Perform cleaning duties related to plant equipment and general housekeeping.
• Report system problems immediately to Supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and surrounding area.
• Maintain an excellent attendance record and an excellent safety and work quality record.
