Job summary

Emterra Group is hiring a General Labourer to support daily recycling plant operations in Victoria, BC. You will sort materials, remove contaminants, and maintain a clean work area in alignment with safety policies. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the role supports a new contract starting in July 2026.

The position requires physical stamina, willingness to be trained on forklift operation, and strong teamwork to meet production and safety standards in an outdoor manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Able to perform repetitive / physical tasks for extended periods and lift up to 25lb.
• Forklift experience is an asset and training may be provided.
• Effective interpersonal skills to communicate, understand and respond to instructions and safety training.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying weather conditions.
• Able to work under timelines and deadlines.
• Able to work well with little supervision and take direction from a supervisor.
• Punctual, reliable, and a team player.

Responsibilities

• Inspect materials and sort items into designated areas.
• Pull contaminants from sorting line.
• Perform cleaning duties related to plant equipment and general housekeeping.
• Report system problems immediately to Supervisor.

• Maintain an excellent attendance record and an excellent safety and work quality record.

Job Summary

• Effective interpersonal skills to be able to communicate, understand and respond to questions, instructions, signs, signals and safety training;
• Ability to work in manufacturing environment which varies based on weather conditions;
• Able to work under timelines;
• Ability to work well with little supervision and take direction from direct supervisor; and
• Punctual, reliable, team player.
