Job summary

Emterra Group in Canada is seeking a General Labourer to support plant operations through safe sorting, cleaning, and material handling. The role emphasizes reliability, physical capability, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualified candidates will perform duties per safety policies, use PPE, and maintain high attendance while contributing to waste diversion and the circular economy.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods and lift up to 25 lb.
• Work well with others and follow supervisor directions.
• Able to work in varying weather conditions.
• Attend to safety policies and wear PPE as required.
• Maintain good attendance and reliability.
• Strong attention to detail in sorting and cleaning tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in a safe manner in compliance with all Company policies;
• Ensure PPE equipment is utilized;
• Inspect materials and sort items or materials into designated areas;
• Pull contaminants from sorting line;
• Perform cleaning duties related to plant equipment and general housekeeping;
• Report system problems immediately to Supervisor;
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and surrounding area;
• Maintain an excellent attendance record and an excellent safety and work quality record.
