Facility Maintenance Worker II

Hourly Wage: $16.07/Regular/Full-Time
Location: White Swan-Mt. Adams Community Center
Responsible for the cleanliness and basic maintenance of the White Swan Community Center, both inside and out, performing basic custodial services for the facility which will include: cleaning of restrooms, floors, watering lawn as well as mowing as needed. Assists with cutting, splitting wood blocks, loading wood in Yakama Nation closed area, and unloading, delivering to qualified applicant's homes. Responsible for maintenance of the tools that are used for the harvesting wood and ensure safe storage of the tools when not in use. When available, will pick up pallets of ready to use firewood from Yakama Forest Products and deliver to qualified applicants.
Examples of Work Performed:
Maintain the White Swan Community Center both inside and outside, cleaning the interior when needed, and maintain the campus keeping grounds free of weeds and debris.
Cutting and hauling wood from the closed area of the reservation.
Hauling ready to use firewood from Yakama Forest Products.
Maintaining a chainsaw and hand tools when used for the harvesting of wood.
May on occasion stay on site to oversee White Swan Community Center during overnight events (i.e. funerals, emergency center).
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor and/or manager of Facility Management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work independently and productively.
Knowledge of the common trees that are harvested for firewood.
Knowledge of the Yakama Nation Reservation and closed area.
Skilled in the use of a chain saw.
Skilled in the use of yard tools.
Ability to operate the necessary tools needed to perform the duties of the position.
Ability to understand and follow oral or written instructions.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be physically capable of performing strenuous outdoor activities in all types of weather and have the ability to lift 40 pounds block of wood.
High School Diploma or GED, any experience or education that demonstrates the ability to perform the work outlined.
Required to work in all types of weather conditions.
Be physically healthy and fit.
Required to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
Must possess a valid Washington State Driver License with the ability to obtain a Yakama Tribal Drivers Permit.
