Job summary

The City of Edmonton is seeking a Waste System Educator to independently deliver waste-related education programs to diverse student and adult audiences, including tours of the Edmonton Waste Management Centre and livestream theatre sessions.

You will develop and update education programs, assist with event planning, respond to public inquiries, and help communicate Edmonton’s waste initiatives while upholding equity, diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Completion of the first year of a Diploma or Degree program in Education, Environmental Science or a related field.
• Minimum of one year demonstrated experience in facilitating and delivering education programs to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Independently deliver tours of Edmonton Waste Management Centre to students across grades.
• Deliver education programs to diverse audiences using livestream theatre.
• Assist with outreach event planning and materials preparation.
• Respond to public inquiries regarding waste services and initiatives.
