Job summary

The City of Delta is seeking a qualified candidate for the exempt temporary full-time role of Solid Waste Manager based in Delta, BC. The Manager oversees waste collection, recycling, organics and sustainability initiatives with a focus on automation, regulatory compliance and service excellence.

Ideal candidate has a degree in Environmental Sciences, Management or Engineering and 5–7 years of related experience, preferably in municipal government.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Management, or Engineering.
• 5-7 years of progressive related experience, preferably in municipal/regional government.
• Exempt temporary full-time role with competitive salary and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight of the City's solid waste program (collection, recycling, organics, diversion, sustainability).
• Plan, deliver, administer and continuously improve services to support efficient, sustainable operations.
• Lead procurement processes, including specifications, tenders, proposal evaluations and contract administration.
