Job summary

Russel Metals Inc. in Halifax, NS is seeking an Industrial Millwright. The role requires a clean Class 1 with Air and 2-3 years of flat-deck truck experience, with steel experience a strong asset.

You must be able to perform heavy lifting and have solid math and measurement skills. Salary is based on experience; benefits include a competitive base rate, flexible shifts, profit sharing, comprehensive benefits, pension, scholarship program, and educational reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Clean Class 1 with Air.
• 2-3 years experience operating a flat-deck truck; steel experience is a strong asset.
• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Able to perform some heavy lifting.
• Good knowledge of math and measurements.
• Good communication skills.
• Self-motivated, results oriented.
• Overhead Crane Experience (asset).
• Forklift Experience (asset).

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe procedures are followed while performing job responsibilities.
• Pick and package material according to customer specifications.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Ensure quality customer service.
• Conduct inspections of vehicle and material on board.
• Comply with workplace policies and health and safety procedures.
• Perform daily preventative maintenance of trucks and trailers.
• Strap and secure materials to ensure safe transport.
• Operate the vehicle safely and in accordance with local jurisdiction.
• Maintain records/logs as prescribed by the Ministry of Transportation and Company policy.
• Operate company issued electronic and/or communication equipment professionally and respectfully.

Duties & Responsibilities

Working Conditions
