Job summary

Loblaw in Halifax, NS is hiring part-time Warehouse Order Selectors at its Lakeside distribution center. Starting wage is 19.25 CAD per hour, with day shifts from 7:30am to 6:00pm and the possibility of 8 or 10 hour shifts up to 40 hours per week.

Overtime pay applies, and CSA safety shoes are required. Position duties include selecting merchandise for shipment, using a headset, lifting up to 50 pounds, and keeping the workspace sanitary and organized.

Qualifications

• General labour experience is preferred.
• Must be able to work days and Saturdays.
• Must have a pair of CSA approved safety shoes.
• Clean criminal record check required.

Responsibilities

• Select merchandise for shipment and stack on pallet using pallet jack or forklift.
• Use headset to pick items inside warehouse.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Ensure accurate, damage-free picking and tidy work space.

Position Details

• Day Shifts: 7:30am until 6:00pm
• Starting wage: $19.25 Part Time
• 10 hour shift OR 8 hour shift (up to 40 hrs/week)
• Overtime pay

Duties

• Select merchandise for shipment and stack on pallet neatly by using a pallet jack or fork lift
• Use a headset to pick individual items inside warehouse
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ensure items pick accurately and safely to prevent damage
• Maintain a sanitary and safe work environment
• Keep work area tidy by picking up scrap wood, paper, plastic wrappers, and broken pallets
• Other duties as required
