Job summary

ALS is seeking a Warehouse Technician to support warehouse functions within the lab. You will sort, locate and retrieve samples, scan and receive pallets, consolidate and build pallets for storage or disposal, and perform local deliveries as needed.

You will assist with shipping/receiving, follow established procedures, and adhere to health and safety policies in a fast-paced environment. A forklift license is an asset and on-site certification may be required.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 diploma preferred.
  • Forklift license and experience operating a forklift is an asset; on-site certification will be required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a high-noise environment.

Responsibilities

  • Sorting, locating and retrieving sample pulps and rejects from the warehouse.
  • Scanning and receiving samples & pallets, consolidating samples, building pallets for storage, return, or disposal.
  • Conduct local deliveries and pick-ups as needed.
  • Assist with shipping & receiving of samples for warehousing functions as needed.

At ALS, we encourage you to dream big.When you join us, you’ll be part of a global team harnessing the power of scientific testing and data-driven insights to build a healthier future.Warehouse Technician (WA)Location ALS GeochemistryReports to: Warehouse Manager or Lab ManagerAbout the Position:The Warehouse Technician (WA) will support the warehouse functions within the lab.Specific ResponsibilitiesSorting, locating and retrieving sample pulps and rejects from the warehouse facilities ;Scanning and receiving samples & pallets, consolidating samples, building pallets for storage, return, or disposal, and manual dumping tasks;Conduct local deliveries and pick-ups as needed;Assist with shipping & receiving of samples for warehousing functions as needed;Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality;Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures;Other duties as assigned.Required Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to perform repetitive tasks accurately and thoroughly;Ability to work within a fast-paced, high volume environment;Basic computer skills in using keyboard, mouse, internet, etc.;Basic verbal English communication skills and ability to read English;Ability to work within a team environment;Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Required QualificationsGrade 12 diploma preferred;Forklift license and experience operating a forklift an asset (on site certification will be required);Physical DemandsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds;Extensive walking or movement, bending, kneeling, and working with machinesFrequently wearing a dust mask;Comfortable in environments with high noise levels;Ability to sit and/or stand for a full shift;Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks;Please note that ALS operates 24/7 and will require day, afternoon, and graveyard shift work including weekends.Our Benefits Include:An estimated hourly pay of $21.48CAD at the time of posting.
