ALS Geochemistry is seeking a Warehouse Technician to support warehouse functions within the lab. The role involves sorting and retrieving samples, scanning, receiving, and packaging, with occasional local deliveries and shipments.

You will follow established procedures to ensure analytical quality while adhering to safety policies and working in a team environment. Candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks accurately, work in a fast-paced setting, and have basic computer skills.

Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills (keyboard, mouse, internet).
  • Basic English reading and verbal communication.
  • Team-oriented and detail-focused.

Responsibilities

  • Sorting, locating and retrieving sample pulps and rejects from the warehouse facilities.
  • Scanning and receiving samples & pallets, consolidating samples, building pallets for storage, return, or disposal, and manual dumping tasks.
  • Conduct local deliveries and pick-ups as needed.
  • Assist with shipping & receiving of samples for warehousing functions as needed.
  • Use correct methods in accordance with established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality.
  • Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Warehouse Technician (WA) Location ALS Geochemistry Reports to: Warehouse Manager or Lab Manager About the Position: The Warehouse Technician (WA) will support the warehouse functions within the lab.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Sorting, locating and retrieving sample pulps and rejects from the warehouse facilities
  • Scanning and receiving samples & pallets, consolidating samples, building pallets for storage, return, or disposal, and manual dumping tasks
  • Conduct local deliveries and pick-ups as needed

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and thoroughly
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced, high volume environment
  • Basic computer skills in using keyboard, mouse, internet, etc.
  • Basic verbal English communication skills and ability to read English
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Required Qualifications
  • Grade 12 diploma preferred
  • Forklift license and experience operating a forklift an asset (on site certification will be required)
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Extensive walking or movement, bending, kneeling, and working with machines
  • Frequently wearing a dust mask
  • Comfortable in environments with high noise levels
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for a full shift
  • Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks

Please note that ALS operates 24/7 and will require day, afternoon, and graveyard shift work including weekends.

  • An estimated hourly pay of $21.48CAD at the time of posting. Individual compensation is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
