Job summary

ALS is hiring a Warehouse Technician to support the lab's warehouse functions in Vancouver. You will sort and locate pulps, scan and receive samples, and assist with shipping, delivery, and pallet building. The role demands accuracy, teamwork, and adherence to safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 diploma preferred.
  • Forklift license and on-site certification required.
  • Basic English reading and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Sort, locate and retrieve sample pulps and rejects in the warehouse.
  • Scan/receive samples and pallets, build pallets for storage or disposal.
  • Conduct local deliveries and pickups as needed.
  • Assist with shipping/receiving and warehousing procedures.
  • Maintain procedures to ensure analytical quality and safety.
  • Follow ALS health and safety policies and participate in other duties.

Warehouse Technician (WA)

Location ALS Geochemistry

Reports to: Warehouse Manager or Lab Manager

About the Position:

The Warehouse Technician (WA) will support the warehouse functions within the lab.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Sorting, locating and retrieving sample pulps and rejects from the warehouse facilities
  • Scanning and receiving samples & pallets, consolidating samples, building pallets for storage, return, or disposal, and manual dumping tasks
  • Conduct local deliveries and pick-ups as needed
  • Assist with shipping & receiving of samples for warehousing functions as needed
  • Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality
  • Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and thoroughly
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced, high volume environment
  • Basic computer skills in using keyboard, mouse, internet, etc.
  • Basic verbal English communication skills and ability to read English
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Required Qualifications
  • Grade 12 diploma preferred
  • Forklift license and experience operating a forklift an asset (on site certification will be required)
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Extensive walking or movement, bending, kneeling, and working with machines
  • Frequently wearing a dust mask
  • Comfortable in environments with high noise levels
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for a full shift
  • Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks

Please note that ALS operates 24/7 and will require day, afternoon, and graveyard shift work including weekends.

An estimated hourly pay of $21.48CAD at the time of posting. Individual compensation is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
