Job summary

Wesdome is seeking a Warehouse Technician at the Eagle River Mine near Wawa, ON. This 6-month contract role focuses on receiving, storing, and distributing parts and supplies in a fast-paced, site-based warehouse.

You will support internal teams and external vendors through parts counter service, shipping/receiving, and inventory control while operating warehouse equipment safely. Rotation includes 14 days on, 14 days off with 12-hour days.

Qualifications

  • Mining experience preferred or working in remote site environments.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills are required.
  • Capable of using computerized inventory systems and peripherals.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing and adherence to safety.

Responsibilities

  • Parts counter and customer service.
  • Shipping, receiving, stocking, and cycle counting of inventory.
  • Unloading trucks and preparing shipping documents.
  • Directing delivery trucks to loading areas and assisting drivers.
  • Recording transactions in the inventory system and tracing shipments as needed.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean work environment; operating pallet jack and forklift.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Eagle River Mine, Near Wawa, ON (Mine Site)

Wesdome is a Canadian-focused gold producer with two high-grade underground assets, the Eagle River mine in Ontario and the Kiena mine in Québec. The mine is located a short drive from Wawa, deep in the forest where it is scenic and quiet. It is a real ‘boots on the ground’ setting. Team members reside in a camp environment and typically work on rotations, depending on the position. The camp offers excellent food, a sauna/gym, recreational room and the opportunity to stay connected with family and friends.

About the Opportunity

As a Warehouse Technician, you’ll play a key role in keeping site operations running smoothly by ensuring materials, parts, and supplies are received, stored, tracked, and delivered accurately and efficiently. Working in a fast-paced warehouse environment, you will support both internal teams and external vendors through parts counter service, shipping and receiving, inventory control, and safe material handling.

Position Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Job Duties
  • Parts counter and customer service.
  • Shipping and receiving of inventory, stocking shelves with inventory, and inventory Cycle counting.
  • Offloading trucks.
  • Preparing shipping documents, both internal and external.
  • Assembling containers and crates, packing goods to be shipped, and attaching packing slips
  • Directing delivery trucks to various off-loading areas around site and helping drivers unload goods as required.
  • Unpacking received good into appropriate storage areas and inspecting and counting items that are received.
  • Recording shipped and received goods as per company procedures.
  • Tracing lost shipments as needed.
  • Filling out forms for damaged and returned items and routing them correctly.
  • Calling suppliers and vendors to coordinate pick-up, delivery, and inspections.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, workstations, and shipping area neat.
  • Operating warehouse equipment such as pallet jack and forklift
  • Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Warehousing experience, preferably in mining environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills with commitment to a cooperative work environment.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work alone.
  • Diligent, attention to detail.
  • Significant computer skills, working within a computerized inventory control system.
  • Experience with SAP Systems is an asset
  • Physically fit and capable of performing tasks that involve heavy lifting.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment, forklift, and narrow aisle truck.
  • Valid drivers license in good standing;

Location: Eagle River Mine

Shift / Hours of Work: 12-hour days

Schedule / Rotation: 14 days on, 14 days off

Type of Hire: 6 Month Contract
