Job summary

Wesdome Gold Mines is seeking a qualified Mine Electrician for the Eagle River Mine near Wawa, Ontario. This role requires a Red Seal ticket and deep knowledge of mining electrical standards, with responsibilities spanning electrical construction, maintenance, safety, and preventative tasks in a remote mine site.

You will collaborate with maintenance, operations, and health and safety teams, perform diagnostics on underground equipment, and ensure compliance with CEC/OEC and M421 codes.

Qualifications

• Valid Red Seal 442A or 309A electrical license and certification.
• Common core certificates for mining operations.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues with underground mobile/production equipment.
• Experience with installation, maintenance, and commissioning of underground substations, pumps, and ventilation fans, PTOs, and starters.
• Strong aptitude for creating and maintaining a positive work atmosphere with coworkers in maintenance and operations.

• Ensure all personal protective equipment is in place before starting any job.
• Notify the Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor of any unsafe conditions and refuse to perform unsafe tasks.
• Liaise with the Joint Health and Safety committee on health and safety issues.
• Maintain logbooks for equipment repairs or services.
• Help maintain accurate eLogger shift report logs.
• Provide electrical assistance to other departments when required.
• Perform all work to applicable electrical codes and standards (CEC/OEC, Mining M421).
• Work with mining operations to ensure smooth liaison during maintenance.
• Complete preventative maintenance and operational work orders as assigned.

About the Opportunity

The Mine Electrician is responsible for electrical construction and maintenance of the mining operation and camp complex, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and policies. The incumbent also performs repairs and preventative maintenance following job procedures, industry practices, and directives from the Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor or Superintendent, planning jobs efficiently and cost‑effectively.

Working Conditions / Schedule

• Location: Eagle River Mine, Near Wawa, ON (Mine Site)
• Shift / Hours: 12‑hour shifts
• Schedule / Rotation: 7 days on / 7 days off
• Type of hire: Permanent, Full Time
• Travel required based on business needs
• Physical requirements: manual dexterity, use of desktop computer and peripherals; ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform required movements.
