Job summary

Lotus Bakeries Milan is seeking a Warehouse Team Leader to own day-to-day operations in Raw Materials or Packaging Materials, ensuring accurate stock, quality checks, and timely receipt. You will lead a team, enforce SOPs, and maintain SAP records to support efficient, compliant warehouse processes.

You will oversee stock integrity, safety compliance, and training, collaborating with planning to optimize weekly receiving and unloading.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as supply chain management, logistics, business administration.
  • HACCP and BRC food safety standards knowledge.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel (intermediate).
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (e.g., SAP).
  • 2–3 years’ experience in a dispatch and warehouse environment.
  • Bilingual with strong communication across languages.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee wellbeing and performance of direct reports in a supportive environment.
  • Monitor task accuracy and schedule adherence for team members.
  • Identify policy violations and arrange corrective actions.
  • Coach team on SOPs relevant to the department and ensure competency.
  • Maintain training registers as proof of coaching and training completed.
  • Open and close warehouse areas and manage stock reception.
  • Ensure correct stock receipt through inspection of orders.
  • Verify proper packing and delivery of stock; secure required documents.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain Planning Manager and review weekly receiving schedule.
  • Ensure safe stacking and compliance with forklift/reach truck safety.
  • Manage stock in SAP and ensure accurate data capture.
  • Keep records of all stock, including cold storage and production staging.
  • Report variances to the Planning Manager; ensure accurate pallet/material numbers.
  • Ensure labels are correct and consistent.

Job description

Take ownership of the day-to-day operations of one of our warehouses, either Raw Materials or Packaging Materials, and play a key role in ensuring the efficient flow, accuracy, and availability of stock.This position will report to the Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing warehouse activities, including the receipt, storage, movement, and control of materials. You will ensure that all incoming materials are accurately verified for quantity, quality, labelling, and addressing, with stock movements and inventory records accurately maintained in SAP.The Warehouse Team Leader will lead and support the warehouse team to ensure that operations are conducted efficiently, safely, and accurately, while maintaining high standards of stock control, product integrity, and compliance with company policies and industry requirements.

  • Oversee the wellbeing and performance of direct reports, ensuring a supportive and productive work environment.
  • Monitor that direct reports complete their tasks accurately and on schedule, providing guidance as needed.
  • Identify instances where company policies or procedures are not being followed and arrange appropriate corrective actions.
  • Coach team members on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) relevant to the department, ensuring compliance and competency.
  • Maintain and update training registers as proof of coaching and training completed.

Manage warehouse

  • Opening and closing of the warehouse areas
  • Responsible to ensure that the correct amount of stock is received from suppliers by conducting an accurate check & inspection on all received orders.
  • Ensure that the stock on the trucks is correctly packed and safely delivered, all the necessary forms are received (Delivery note, packing list, invoice, COA/COC) and signed.
  • Confers with the Supply Chain Planning Manager and Supply Chain team and review the weekly schedule for receiving.
  • Ensuring good stacking practises in the Warehouse Area by stacking all the different materials at the allocated areas. Comply to all safety regulations regarding the use of the forklift, reach truck & electric pallet trucks
  • Manage stock in SAP
  • Ensure that information is correctly captured on SAP
  • Ensure good record keeping of all stock. This includes all stock that is still in the warehouse and cold storage area as well as stock that has been staged to production.
  • Report any variances immediately to the Supply Chain Planning Manager.
  • Ensures that the pallet number and material number correspond.
  • Ensure that all the information on the labels is correct.
Profile

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as supply chain management, logistics, business administration

Specific knowledge

  • Solid understanding of HACCP and BRC food safety standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel (intermediate level).
  • General computer literacy with experience in warehouse management systems (e.g., SAP).

Experience

  • 2–3 years’ experience working in a dispatch and warehouse environment, handling stock, logistics, and distribution processes
  • Maintain an excellent professional work standard.
  • Strong people management and leadership skills
  • Ability to work under pressure while multitasking and prioritising tasks effectively.
