Job summary

CTDI Careers is seeking a seasoned Warehouse Leader in Calgary, AB. You will supervise daily warehouse activities, drive efficiency, and manage inventory while leading a high-performing team.

You will develop policies, analyze data, and ensure SLAs and health & safety standards are met. The role requires strong leadership, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration to sustain cost reductions and service excellence.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of leadership experience in warehouse or related environments.
  • Experience with P&L and budgets and managing a demanding workload.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills to analyze data and trends.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively in a warehouse setting.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and standards to streamline workflow.
  • Manage reports, statistical analysis, and daily P&L reporting; participate in daily calls.
  • Monitor inventory levels and optimize stock movements to minimize costs.
  • Meet or exceed daily KPIs with accurate reporting; exceed customer expectations.
  • Lead and motivate warehouse staff with guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Collaborate with logistics, procurement, and customer service to meet needs and SLAs.
  • Communicate with management and customers to ensure SLAs and promptly resolve issues.
  • Address employee relations and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Provide escalation support during shifts; coordinate with IT/network for improvements.
  • Utilize WMS and other tools to track performance and generate reports.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Performance coaching, succession planning, and quality management ownership.
  • Labour planning, cost reduction initiatives, KPI dashboard development.
  • Participate in Safety committees and root cause analyses where needed.
  • Other duties as assigned based on warehouse needs.

Job description

  • Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping, to ensure timely and accurate execution of tasks.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and standards to streamline workflow, improve productivity, and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Manage reports, statistical analysis, and daily P&L reporting. This may include participating in daily P&L calls with Management .
  • Monitor inventory levels, track stock movements, and optimize inventory management processes to minimize stock outs, overstock, and inventory holding costs.
  • Responsible for meeting or surpassing daily Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), with accurate reporting that consistently exceeds customer expectations.
  • Lead and motivate warehouse staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to foster a positive and high-performing team culture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as logistics, procurement, and customer service, to coordinate warehouse operations and address customer needs and requirements.
  • Communicates effectively with management and customers to ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs), meeting customer expectations, and promptly resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Engages in employee relations initiatives, promptly addressing and resolving employee concerns to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Provide the next level of support for escalated issues during work shifts.
  • Collaborates with Corporate to facilitate escalations involving corporate resources (IT, network, etc.) for troubleshooting or process improvement purposes.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and other technology tools to track inventory, monitor performance metrics, and generate reports for analysis and decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards to maintain a safe working environment for employees and visitors.
  • Employee performance management, coaching, and succession planning.
  • Quality management and customer satisfaction ownership. (Previous experience working to a standard of ISO9001)
  • Labour planning and resource optimization.
  • Budget ownership and cost reduction initiatives.
  • KPI dashboard development and executive reporting.
  • Health & Safety leadership and Joint Health & Safety Committee participation.
  • Root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • All other duties assigned, based on the business the warehouse supports.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of leadership experience (preferably in a high-volume, fast-paced production, manufacturing, distribution, warehousing or service environment), including experience working with P&L/budgets.
  • Proficient in managing a demanding workload, prioritizing tasks and consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Capable of working independently and engaging proactively within the warehouse setting.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control software, and MS Office.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate, motivate, and influence individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills, with a strategic mindset and a focus on results and continuous improvement.
    Proficient knowledge of Project Management and the importance of prioritizing deadlines.
  • General knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Standards.
