Job summary

Canteen in Edmonton is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to lead an hourly workforce and coordinate shipping, receiving, warehousing, and order picking to meet customer specs.

You will manage inventory levels, payroll hours, safety training, and performance coaching, ensure accuracy in cycle counts, and drive continuous improvements.

A post-secondary education and prior supervisory experience in warehouse or distribution are required; ability to work varied shifts is expected.

• Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage an hourly workforce in accordance with policies, procedures and the collective agreement to deliver objectives including communications, safety, training, performance management, work assignment, attendance management, competency assessment, coaching, and discipline.
• Coordinate shipping, receiving, warehousing of product, order picking and cycle counts to ensure on-time shipment per customer specs.
• Inventory management including ordering, maintaining levels and ensuring distribution/turnover.
• Maintain inventory management system and recommend process streamlining for improvements.
• Coordinate warehouse inventory slotting to drive accuracy and picking/loading efficiency.
• Ensure quality, cleanliness, customer service and company programs are maintained.
• Execute shipments, create warehouse tasks/orders, assess product availability, update orders as required.
• Provide operational performance and delivery information to the Operations Manager.
• Ensure adequate workforce resources for delivery and coordinate resource adjustments with the Ops Manager.
• Ensure training in health & safety and food safety policies for all warehouse staff.
• Review employee hours in payroll for timely wage payments.
• Other project work as assigned by management.

• Manage an hourly workforce employees in a fair and equitable manner in accordance with company policies, procedures and the collective agreement to deliver operational and work environment objectives including communications, safety, training, performance management, work assignment, attendance management, competency assessment, coaching, and discipline.
• Coordinate the shipping, receiving, warehousing of product, order picking and cycle counts to ensure all customer orders are shipped on time in accordance with customer specifications.
• Inventory management including the ordering of inventory, maintain inventory levels and ensuring product distribution and turn over.
• Maintain inventory management system and make recommendations to streamline operations and improve the inventory maintenance process.
• Coordinate warehouse inventory slotting activities to drive inventory accuracy and warehouse picking/loading efficiency.
• Ensure quality, cleanliness, customer service and company policies and programs are maintained.
• Responsible for executing shipments, creating warehouse tasks and warehouse orders, assessing product availability of orders, update orders as required.
• Provide required operational performance and delivery information to the Operations Manager.
• Ensure adequate workforce resources are available for operational delivery and proposed additions / reductions to the Operations Manager to acquire/reduce resources accordingly.
• Ensure all warehouse employees are properly trained in health & safety and food safety policy / procedures and the duties and responsibilities of their current role.
• Review employee hours worked into the payroll system timely wage payment to employees for hours worked.
• Other project work as assigned by management.
