• Lead the daily warehouse and shipping operations to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient movement of finished goods.

• Provide hands-on support during high-volume periods, disruptions, or urgent customer requirements.
• Own and drive On Time in Full performance, developing shipping plans and coordinating with various stakeholders.
• Coordinate outbound shipments, carrier appointments, dock schedules, and customer pickup requirements.
• Identify orders at risk of delay and coordinate recovery plans; investigate delays and shipping issues.
• Improve freight utilization, loading efficiency, transportation costs, and delivery performance.
• Maintain shipping documentation and proof-of-shipment records.
• Lead, coach, and develop warehouse and shipping staff; manage staffing and shift coverage.
• Conduct regular meetings, performance discussions, and coaching; support recruitment and onboarding.
• Promote safety, adherence to procedures, and a culture of continuous improvement.
• Establish and monitor performance indicators related to OTIF, order accuracy, and dock turnaround.

Description

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Warehouse Operations & Order Fulfilment: Lead the daily warehouse and shipping operations to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient movement of finished goods. Oversee the picking, staging, verification, packing, loading, and dispatch of customer orders. Ensure orders are prepared accurately and in accordance with customer requirements, shipping schedules, and established procedures. Organize daily work assignments and allocate labor and equipment based on shipping volumes and operational priorities. Maintain orderly warehouse staging areas, loading docks, aisles, and designated storage locations. Ensure warehouse equipment, dock areas, trailers, and material-handling resources are available and operational. Maintain a strong floor presence and provide hands‑on support during high‑volume periods, operational disruptions, or urgent customer requirements.
• Shipping, Receiving, Transportation & OTIF Performance: Own and drive the site’s On Time in Full performance, ensuring customer orders are shipped completely, accurately, and according to committed delivery schedules. Develop daily and weekly shipping plans in coordination with Customer Service, Production, Scheduling, and Operations. Coordinate outbound shipments, carrier appointments, dock schedules, trailer availability, and customer pickup requirements. Work with freight carriers and logistics providers to secure transportation capacity and resolve service issues. Proactively identify orders at risk of delay or incomplete shipment and coordinate recovery plans with the appropriate stakeholders. Investigate and resolve shipping delays, loading errors, freight claims, damaged shipments, missed pickups, and delivery discrepancies. Identify opportunities to improve freight utilization, loading efficiency, transportation costs, and delivery performance. Maintain accurate shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing documentation, carrier information, and proof‑of‑shipment records.
• Team Leadership & Workforce Management: Lead, coach, and develop hourly and salaried employees within the warehouse and shipping functions. Establish clear expectations for safety, attendance, productivity, order accuracy, loading quality, and OTIF performance. Plan staffing and shift coverage based on shipment volumes, customer priorities, vacation schedules, and anticipated operational requirements. Conduct regular team meetings, shift handovers, performance discussions, and coaching sessions. Support the recruitment, onboarding, training, cross‑training, and development of warehouse and shipping employees. Address performance, conduct, attendance, and workplace concerns promptly and consistently, in partnership with Human Resources. Build a culture of urgency, teamwork, accountability, service, and continuous improvement.
• Safety, Compliance & Operational Discipline: Ensure warehouse and shipping activities comply with applicable health and safety requirements, company policies, and site procedures. Promote safe practices related to forklift operation, trailer loading, dock safety, pedestrian movement, load securement, material handling, and housekeeping. Conduct routine inspections of warehouse areas, loading docks, racking, equipment, and shipping workspaces. Ensure employees receive the required training and follow established safe operating procedures. Participate in incident and near‑miss investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly. Maintain readiness for internal, customer, safety, and regulatory audits. Reinforce compliance with established ERP, WMS, scanning, shipping, and material‑movement transaction procedures.

Performance Management & Continuous Improvement: Establish, monitor, and report warehouse and shipping performance indicators, including On Time in Full delivery, On‑time shipment performance, Order and loading accuracy, Orders shipped per labor hour, Carrier pickup reliability, Freight cost and cost per shipment, Shipping‑related customer complaints, Damaged or incorrectly loaded shipments, Dock and trailer turnaround time and Safety performance. Analyze shipping delays, incomplete orders, workflow bottlenecks, loading errors, and productivity losses to identify root causes. Develop and implement corrective actions to improve service, labor efficiency, workflow, and shipping accuracy. Standardize warehouse and shipping processes through documented procedures, visual controls, training, and daily management routines. Collaborate with Production, Customer Service, Scheduling, Supply Chain, Quality, Maintenance, and Finance to improve customer delivery performance. Support changes to warehouse layout, dock scheduling, material flow, systems, equipment, and working methods.
