Job summary

Staples Canada in Calgary, AB is seeking a warehouse associate to receive, store and move products within our busy warehouse. You will operate equipment under supervision, scan items and help ensure orders are accurate.

We offer shift hours 10:00 AM - 7:30 PM, wage $17.20–$19.20 hourly, and benefits including employee discount, health and dental, learning programs, RRSP matching and paid vacation. Prior warehouse experience is preferred; certification in equipment operation can be pursued.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) months' related experience in a warehouse environment.
• Experience with warehouse equipment such as forklift, cherry picker and pallet jack preferred.
• Ability and interest to become certified in the operation of warehouse equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties using equipment such as forklift and pallet jacks.
• Ensure accuracy of orders received and examine discrepancies.
• Use hand-held scanners to enter product information while ensuring accuracy.
• Contribute to the efficient operation of warehouse activities through teamwork with co-workers in warehouse, drivers and purchasing personnel.
• Adhere to all safety procedures in the performance of job duties.

Work requires moderate physical effort and the use of motor skills requiring manual dexterity to perform the essential duties of this job:

• The employee will regularly sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee may lift, lower, or carry products up to a maximum of 50 pounds by hand.
• The employee will operate warehouse equipment. Using proper safety procedures will eliminate any potential hazards.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
