Job summary

Staples Canada in Amherst, NS is hiring a Warehouse Associate to receive, store and move products in our distribution center. You will operate equipment such as forklift, pallet jack and cherry picker under supervision, ensuring accurate order handling and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) months' related experience in a warehouse environment.
• Experience with warehouse equipment such as forklift, cherry picker and pallet jack preferred.
• Ability and interest to become certified in the operation of warehouse equipment will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, and move products around the warehouse using equipment.
• Perform duties under the direction of warehouse supervisor or manager.
• Use hand-held scanners to enter product information while ensuring accuracy.
• Contribute to the efficient operation of warehouse activities through teamwork with co-workers in warehouse, drivers and purchasing personnel.
• Adhere to all safety procedures in the performance of job duties.

Shift Time: Monday-Friday 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Pay Rate: $18.15 per hour minimum

Work requires moderate physical effort and the use of motor skills requiring manual dexterity to perform the essential duties of this job:

• The employee will regularly sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee may lift, lower, or carry products up to a maximum of 50 pounds by hand.
• The employee will operate warehouse equipment. Using proper safety procedures will eliminate any potential hazards.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
