Job summary

Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking a warehouse worker to support inventory management within a health-care setting. Responsibilities include stocking and unstocking racking up to 22 feet high and up to 4,000 lbs, operating forklifts, and maintaining accurate inventory records.

Job description

Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Experience
  • Previous warehouse experience required.
  • Experience operating electric forklifts and/or high-stacker required and the ability to stock/unstock racking up to 22 feet high up to 4000 lbs.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • SPECIAL TRAINING:
    • Must complete and maintain recognized Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training.
    • On the-job-training provided on the Warehouse Inventory Management system.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Must possess a current certificate from a recognized training facility or equivalent certificate for the Forklift and Low Lift Pallet Mover (may not be required at all sites).
Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing is required.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills essential.
  • Knowledge of the facility/site is an asset.
  • As a custodian of the site’s inventory, it is critical that the individual bring with them the quality of honesty and integrity.
Physical Requirements
  • Position requires considerable standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, stretching, pushing and pulling.
  • Repetitive lifting of boxes from floor to shelving (55 lbs.).
  • Pushing and pulling cartloads/pallets of supplies that may weigh up to 2,100 lbs., is required.
  • May be required to work in cramped and/or high conditions where carrying items over obstacles and twisting motions are necessary.
  • Will be required to operate equipment to load and unload pallets of supplies from the racking units, reaching a maximum height of 22 feet.
  • Required to handle hazardous/dangerous goods in accordance with WHMIS regulations.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
