Job description

Overview

The Warehouse Operations Supervisor is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of the warehouse, with a focus on supervising warehouse personnel and achieving daily production goals.

Available: Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.


Responsibilities
  1. Operations Management
  2. Develop and implement shipping and receiving schedules to ensure effective operations that meet goals.
  3. Supervise warehouse personnel, matching skills and backgrounds to job requirements.
  4. Oversee inbound and outbound shipments for accuracy and timeliness.
  5. Ensure equipment is used efficiently and coordinate maintenance with management.
  6. Review daily work objectives and determine productivity requirements to meet overall goals.
  7. Collaborate with other leaders to balance labor and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
  8. Draft and submit daily end-of-shift reports.
  9. Recommend and work on initiatives to improve operations.
  1. Employee Relations and Development
  2. Conduct daily pre-shift meetings covering previous shift productivity, operational issues, and workload forecasts.
  3. Assist in developing training and motivation programs for personnel.
  4. Implement onboarding programs for new hires.
  5. Maintain good human resources practices and adhere to policies.
  6. Work with HR to resolve employee issues, discipline, and terminations.
  7. Provide feedback, coaching, and recognition to personnel.
  8. Participate in employee development and talent selection.
  9. Provide performance feedback and conduct hourly reviews.
  10. Maintain accurate timekeeping records.
  11. Stay current on relevant tools, systems, and industry information.
  12. Travel to other warehouses and attend meetings as needed.
  1. Safety and Security
  2. Ensure safe, clean, and efficient warehouse operations to meet service standards.
  3. Support safety programs and OSHA compliance.
  4. Report and analyze employee injuries and accidents following documented procedures.
  5. Ensure employees complete daily safety checks.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field, or 1-5 years of supervisory experience.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (Manhattan preferred).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Good judgment in stressful situations and ability to handle changing priorities.
  • Experience with seasonal workforces is a plus.
  • Interest in performance metrics, process improvement, Lean/Six Sigma tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and warehouse/mechanical equipment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, FDA regulations; willingness to get certified.
  • Strong talent management and team-building skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, non-verbal, written).
  • Customer service skills, especially with external clients.
  • Analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Flexible to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand/walk for 10-12 hours and lift/move up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in variable noise, lighting, and temperature conditions.
