Job summary

MacDonald Search Group is partnering with a client to recruit a Warehouse Manager for a temperature‑controlled facility in Calgary. You will lead daily operations, ensure safe handling of perishable products, and uphold inventory accuracy and compliance standards.

You’ll coach and develop a team, manage labour planning, and drive improvements across processes and systems while supporting audits and regulatory activities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of warehouse experience including leadership in cold storage.
• Knowledge of HACCP/CFIA and food safety standards.
• Experience with WMS/ERP and performance tracking.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, inventory control, order picking, and shipping.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards (HACCP, CFIA) and cold chain requirements.
• Lead, coach, and develop warehouse staff; manage scheduling and labour planning.
• Monitor and report on KPIs (productivity, inventory accuracy, OTIF).
• Conduct cycle counts and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Drive continuous improvement across processes, layout, and systems.
• Maintain equipment standards and a safe working environment.
• Support audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.

Job description

We are partnering with a well-established distribution client to find a Warehouse Manager for a temperature-controlled facility. This role is responsible for leading all aspects of warehouse operations, ensuring the safe, efficient handling of perishable products while maintaining high standards of inventory accuracy, compliance, and team performance.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, inventory control, order picking, and shipping
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards (HACCP, CFIA) and cold chain requirements
• Lead, coach, and develop warehouse staff; manage scheduling and labour planning
• Monitor and report on key operational KPIs (productivity, inventory accuracy, OTIF, etc.)
• Conduct cycle counts and resolve inventory discrepancies through root cause analysis
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across processes, layout, and systems
• Maintain equipment standards and ensure a safe working environment
• Support audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities

Who you are:

• 5+ years of warehouse experience, including leadership in a cold storage or perishable goods environment
• Strong knowledge of food safety and understanding of regulatory standards HACCP/CFIA is preferred
• Proven leadership and team development skills
• Experience with WMS/ERP systems and performance tracking
• Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
