Job summary

CWS Logistics is seeking a Warehouse Coordinator to oversee shipping, receiving and storage activities, ensuring products are handled and documented according to policy. You will work with supervisors to train staff and uphold safety procedures at all times.

The role requires TDG and WHMIS certifications, forklift operation, and the ability to perform regular inventory counts while maintaining accurate records. A strong team player with clear communication is essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee shipping, receiving and storage of products; optimize warehouse space.
• Train and mentor warehouse staff in procedures and safety.
• Ensure compliance with CWS policies, Transportation of Dangerous Goods and NFC/AWSA regulations.
• Conduct inventory counts and reconcile with records.
• Inspect outgoing loads and verify load patterns and load safety.
• Attach proper documentation to outbound loads (bills of lading, placards, signatures).
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the warehouse, pallets and returns.

Job description

This position is responsible for coordinating the activities of the warehouse staff and the efficient management of the warehouse including shipping, receiving and storage of products.

Description Of Work Performed

• Work with the Supervisor to oversee the shipping, receiving and storage of products handled by the facility, ensuring optimum use of warehouse space as well as to ensure products are stored in accordance with AWSA and NFC regulations.
• Assist the Location Manager and Supervisor in training and mentoring warehouse staff in all aspects of the role.
• Responsible to ensure all products are shipped and received in accordance with CWS's shipping and receiving policies and the Transportation of Dangerous Goods.
• Perform inventory counts as required by the customer as well as periodic inventory counts to ensure actual inventory matches inventory records.
• Work with the Supervisor to understand and train staff on AWSA, NFC regulations as well as all safety procedures.
• Assist the Supervisor on inspection of outgoing loads and verify the product against the bill of lading to ensure every trailer is loaded according to the specified load pattern and ensure load safety.
• Responsible for ensuring the proper documentation is attached to each outbound load including bills of lading, placards and signatures.
• Responsible for the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse which includes consolidation of pallets and returns being neatly stacked and stored.
• Perform other related duties of a warehouse worker.

Education, Experience And Designations/Licenses

• Grade 12 or recognized educational equivalent.
• Three years’ experience in receiving, storing and shipping product in a warehouse environment is required.
• Requires Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification, WHMIS certification and a forklift operator’s certificate.
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment.
