Job summary

FMi Logistics Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Lead Hand to coordinate a team of warehouse operators, ensuring accurate picking, packing, receiving, and shipping. You will uphold safety standards and drive daily performance in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes leadership, attention to detail, and cross-functional coordination with CSRs, Inventory, and Shipping teams. A strong background in logistics and supervisory exposure is required for success.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary in logistics or business preferred.
  • Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Minimum 3 years in warehouse operations or logistics.
  • 1–2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Experience in shipping, receiving and picking procedures.
  • Knowledge of inventory procedures.
  • Forklift operator certification.
  • WHMIS training.
  • Proficiency with warehouse management systems and databases.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate a warehouse team to ensure timely picking, packing, receiving, and shipping.
  • Promote a safe work environment and address safety concerns.
  • Schedule and assign duties for the warehouse team; coordinate activities.
  • Fill and submit reports as needed and audit orders for accuracy.
  • Work with Warehouse Supervisor on daily reporting and KPI tracking.
  • Act as Shipper/Receiver/Inventory coordinator when needed.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts and coordination with Inventory/Receiver.

Job Title: Warehouse Lead Hand (03)
Job Summary

Lead Hand coordinates a team of warehouse operators to ensure timely and accurate picking, packing, receiving, and shipping of products while attending to other aspects of the warehouse operations.

You Want to Do This
  • Promote a safe work environment through personal actions. Identify and help solve any safety concerns!
  • Working with CSRs, ensuring customers’ orders are released to the floor and allocated to team members.
  • Prioritizing clients’ requests for orders to be picked up promptly.
  • Attending to the needs of the warehouse team and coordinating team activities.
  • Scheduling and coordinating the work of the warehouse team, assigning duties.
  • Fill and submit reports, as necessary.
  • Auditing orders, checking the quality of work assigned to the team.
  • Working closely with the Warehouse Supervisor on day-to-day reporting/requirements.
  • Ensuring that all Warehouse KPIs are met on a daily/weekly/monthly cycle.
  • Coordinate with the shipper to ensure all shipping procedures are followed and are accurate.
  • Coordinate with the Inventory coordinator in performing inventory cycle counts as requested by customers and solving location issues in the warehouse, ensuring inventory accuracy!
  • Coordinate with the Receiver in completing all the receiver activities promptly.
  • Act as Shipper &/or Receiver, &/or Inventory coordinator when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
You Know & Have These Things Already
  • Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain management, or business administration is preferred.
  • Computer literacy is mandatory, and you must have experience with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in warehouse operations or logistics.
  • At least 1-2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Experience in shipping, receiving, and picking procedures.
  • Knowledge of inventory procedures.
  • Abilities /Skills/Certifications:
  • Forklift operator certification.
  • First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.
  • WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) training.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems and database software.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 70 lb and stand for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of inventory control and supply chain management.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Additional Requirements:
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
  • Clean driving record and a valid driver’s license.
  • Experience in a multi-client warehouse environment is highly desirable.
  • Clean criminal background check.
