Job summary

C W S Logistics is seeking a warehouse coordinator to lead staff in shipping, receiving and storage operations, ensuring compliance with AWSA and NFC regulations. You will manage inventory, coordinate with Transportation, and train new staff on SOPs and container management systems.

Ideal candidates have at least three years in warehouse roles, TDG/WHMIS certifications, and a forklift operator’s certificate. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or recognized educational equivalent.
• Three years experience in receiving, storing and shipping product in a warehouse environment.
• Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification, WHMIS certification and forklift operator’s certificate.

Responsibilities

• Manage shipping, receiving and storage of products with optimum space utilization and regulatory compliance (AWSA and NFC).
• Ensure all shipments/receipts align with policies and TDG regulations; document discrepancies and damages.
• Perform inventory counts and coordinate with Customer Service; communicate results timely.
• Schedule incoming/outgoing loads with Transportation group and allocate trailers for loading.
• Inspect outgoing loads against bills of lading and ensure correct load patterns.
• Oversee paper flow from floor to admin staff to ensure timely task completion.
• Attach proper documentation to outbound loads (bills of lading, placards, signatures).
• Train new staff on SOPs and container management system; enforce warehouse procedures.
• Maintain organization/cleanliness of warehouse, consolidating inventory and pallets.
• Coach and discipline warehouse staff as required.
• Perform other related duties.

Job description

This position is responsible for coordinating the activities of the warehouse staff and the efficient management of the warehouse including shipping, receiving and storage of products.

Description Of Work Performed

• Manage the shipping, receiving and storage of products handled by the facility, ensuring optimum use of warehouse space as well as to ensure products are stored in accordance with AWSA and NFC regulations.
• Responsible to ensure all products are shipped and received in accordance with CWS's shipping and receiving policies and the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations.
• Ensure all shipping and receiving documentation correctly reflects the actual shipments and/or receipts and is communicated to Customer Service in a timely manner. This includes ensuring all discrepancies and damages are recorded and signed by the appropriate people.
• perform inventory counts as required by the customer as well as periodic inventory counts to ensure actual inventory matches inventory records.
• In conjunction with the Transportation group, responsible for the scheduling of incoming and outgoing loads, as well as scheduling trailers for loading.
• Inspect all outgoing loads and verify the product against the bill of lading to ensure every trader is loaded per its specified load pattern.
• Responsible to oversee the paper flow from the floor to administrative staff so tasks can be completed in a timely manner.
• Responsible for ensuring the proper documentation is attached to each outbound load including bills of lading, placards and signatures.
• Responsible to oversee and train new staff on SOPs and responsibilities related to the efficient operation of the facility including training for the CWS container management system.
• Responsible for the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse which includes consolidation of customer inventory as well as pallets and other materials for warehouse use.
• Responsible to work with the Warehouse Manager to coach and discipline warehouse staff as required.
• Perform other related duties.

Education, Experience And Designations/Licenses

• Grade 12 or recognized educational equivalent.
• Three years experience in receiving, storing and shipping product in a warehouse environment is required.
• Requires Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification, WHMIS certification and forklift operator’s certificate.
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment.
