Job summary

Northern Strands Group of Companies is hiring a Warehouse Labourer to support loading, unloading, and moving materials at our Saskatchewan site. You will help with order fulfillment, stock management, and general warehouse tasks under the Inside Sales & Warehouse Manager guidance.

The role requires a Grade 12 or equivalent, 2+ years in warehousing, a valid driver’s license, and strong organizational skills. Training in safety (WHMIS) is a plus; we value teamwork and safety in all operations.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Valid driver\'s license.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong time-management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle competing priorities simultaneously; work well under pressure with time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Possess a positive and professional attitude, set a high standard, and convey professionalism at all times.
  • Any safety-related training certificates would be considered an asset (i.e., Forklift).
  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities

Responsibilities

  • Assemble containers and crates, record contents manually or in computer system, and pack goods to be shipped.
  • Assist with loading and unloading of goods from trucks or other conveyances.
  • Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages, and reject damaged goods.
  • Operate forklift, hand truck, overhead crane or other equipment as necessary.
  • Organize items to fill customer requests from Order Desk and Outside Sales.
  • Provide backup assistance to the Shipper/Receiver.
  • Assist with reeling rope for customer orders.
  • Restock wire rope on racking and pallet racks.
  • Restock chain drums.
  • Build and paint reels.
  • Assist with filling chain orders.
  • Assist with building wire rope slings and small assemblies.
  • Complete regular inventory cycle counts.
  • Assist with general facilities maintenance.
  • Interact courteously with customers, vendors and co-workers, displaying professional conduct.
  • Other related duties as assigned

Northern Strands is growing, and we're on the lookout for a passionate, detail-driven Warehouse Labourer, whose primary responsibilities are to assist in loading, unloading, lifting, and moving material. The Warehouse Labourer is an integral part of the team and contributes to the success of the company. This position reports directly to the Inside Sales & Warehouse Manager. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test will be required as a condition of employment.
