Job summary

Safety Express Ltd, an Aramsco Company, is seeking a reliable Warehouse Associate to join our Operations Team in Richmond, BC.

You will be responsible for receiving, stocking, order picking, packing, shipping, and maintaining accurate inventory while adhering to safety guidelines and promoting a organized, efficient warehouse.

The role requires physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with forklift certification preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous warehouse experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, verify, and inspect incoming shipments and update inventory records.
  • Stock, label, and organize inventory to maximize space and accuracy.
  • Perform order picking, packing, and prepare shipments with proper documentation.
  • Coordinate with carriers, track shipments, and handle returns as needed.
  • Maintain inventory controls, conduct cycle counts, and report discrepancies.

We are currently seeking a reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic team player to join our dynamic Operations Team.

OBJECTIVE

Safety Express recognizes the value that our Warehouse team brings to our organization. The Warehouse Associate plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of a warehouse or distribution center. They are responsible for performing various tasks related to receiving, storing, organizing, and shipping products or materials. The primary goal of a Warehouse Associate is to ensure accurate and timely handling of inventory and maintain a well‑organized warehouse environment.This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who thrive in challenging and rapidly changing work settings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Receiving and Inspection: Receive incoming shipments, verify their contents against purchase orders or invoices, and inspect them for damage or defects. Accurately record received quantities and update inventory systems accordingly.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment, managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Stocking and Organizing: Properly store and arrange inventory in designated locations within the warehouse. Ensure items are labeled correctly and use appropriate storage methods to maximize space utilization. Regularly conduct inventory counts to maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Order Picking and Packing: Retrieve items from inventory based on order lists or requests. Pack orders securely and prepare them for shipment using appropriate packaging materials. Double-check order accuracy and ensure proper documentation is included.
  • Shipping and Receiving: Prepare shipments for outgoing delivery by selecting appropriate carriers, creating shipping labels, and arranging transportation logistics. Coordinate with shipping carriers and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery. Receive and process returns or exchanges as needed.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move, stack, and transport materials. Adhere to all safety guidelines and maintain equipment in good working condition.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels and participate in regular inventory audits or cycle counts. Identify and report any discrepancies or issues to supervisors. Assist in the implementation of inventory management strategies and procedures.
  • Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment by adhering to safety protocols and housekeeping standards. Report any safety hazards or potential risks to supervisors immediately.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping: Accurately document all warehouse activities, including receipts, shipments, inventory adjustments, and other relevant information. Maintain detailed records and reports for future reference.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other warehouse employees, , and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and efficient operations with the ability to assess priorities and pivot when necessary, and communicate any operational challenges or suggestions for improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned including, but not limited to delivery driving, DOP and FIT testing.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations and equipment.
  • Knowledge in the abatement, restoration, construction, or general safety & cleaning industries would be an asset.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Ability to use or learn various basic software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Forklift certification (or capable of certification)
  • Valid driver’s licence is an asset
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment.
  • Stand on your feet for long periods.
  • Walking, bending, reaching, stretching, climbing.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
