Job summary

The Warehouse Associate at Thorpe is responsible for the efficient receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of materials within the warehouse and at multiple sites in Edmonton. Qualifications

  • Current Valid Driver's License.
  • Current counterbalance forklift certification.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Working knowledge of inventory control principles.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and inventory software.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Understanding of workplace safety standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming shipments and verify products against packing slips and purchase orders.
  • Inspect materials for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report issues promptly.
  • Accurately process paperwork.
  • Perform inventory counts, cycle counts, and stock reconciliations.
  • Pick, pack, and stage customer orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare shipments according to customer and carrier requirements.
  • Verify shipping documentation and ensure proper labeling.
  • Load and unload trucks using forklifts and material handling equipment.
  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Store materials in designated locations while maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Assist in organizing warehouse layouts and optimizing storage utilization.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure work areas are clean and organized.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns.
  • Collaborate with inventory, procurement, logistics, and operations teams to resolve issues.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs (25 kg) regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment.

The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done.
