Job summary

Nova Scotia Health in the Western Zone invites applications for a Physiotherapist. The successful candidate will assess, diagnose, and treat patients across outpatient, inpatient and community settings, and supervise physiotherapy students and assistants.

Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are essential. Requirements include a BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy, registration with the Nova Scotia Physiotherapy Regulator, and CPR (BCLS).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or MSc in Physiotherapy and registration with the Nova Scotia Physiotherapy Regulator.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills required.
• Competencies in additional languages (French preferred) are assets.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Physiotherapist assesses, diagnoses and treats patients who present with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations or disabilities. The Physiotherapist may provide service in outpatient, inpatient and community settings. The Physiotherapist educates and communicates with other health disciplines, the general public, family members and caregivers. The Physiotherapist provides supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students and supervision of assistants. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required. The successful applicant may be required to provide services anywhere within the Rehabilitation Services portfolio.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

• Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Physiotherapy, or Master of Science in Physiotherapy
• Membership with the Nova Scotia Physiotherapy Regulator
• Annual Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation certification (BCLS)
• Physiotherapy is a diverse profession requiring additional courses/education/training in many specialized areas or practice, e.g., cardio-respiratory techniques, acupuncture, stroke rehabilitation, manual therapy, balance training, etc
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

• Permanent, full-time position; 75 hours biweekly

Compensation and Benefits

$38.43 - $50.98 hourly
