Job summary

DHL Express is hiring a part-time Warehouse worker for our Halifax, NS location. The shift runs Monday to Friday from 6am to 11am, with a starting wage of $20.72 per hour, increasing with the CBA.

You will handle deliveries/pickups, perform pre/post-trip vehicle checks, scan freight, sort and move goods, and support the Tracing and Front Counter duties. Required are a high school diploma, a valid Class 5 licence, a forklift certificate, and the ability to obtain a RAIC while meeting security

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Forklift certificate is required.
• Ability to obtain RAIC as per Transport Canada guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned deliveries and pick-ups and/or other tasks assigned by supervisor.
• Vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Scan freight as per agreed procedures.
• Organize and sort all freight to appropriate routes.
• Move freight within the warehouse area as per requirements.
• Accurately sort and process, by deadlines, in-bound material.
• Assist Tracing Department with thorough warehouse checks for missorts, on-hands, etc.
• Participate in the organization and clean-up of the warehouse area.
• Participate in maintaining a safe and co-operative work environment.
• Perform Front Counter Duties
• Perform HIC duties
• Perform accurate reporting
• Other warehouse duties as assigned by the shift supervisor

Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry parcels, up to and including 70 lbs per piece, throughout shift
• Forklift certificate
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and on-time within tight time constraints
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Meet security requirements
• Broad general working knowledge of warehouse functions
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the DHL operations system
• High School Diploma
• Ability to obtain Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) as per Transport Canada guidelines
• Valid Class 5 driver's licence
