Job summary

DHL Express currently has an opening for a Driver in Calgary, AB. The role requires a Class 5 license, on-call hours, and availability Monday to Friday from 9:30 to 18:00. Wage is $24.96 per hour and will increase per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Responsibilities include driving a van or 5-ton truck, loading/unloading, and processing freight with attention to security and accuracy. Prior warehouse/customer service experience is asset.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Good knowledge of MS Office; comfortable with Excel.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Able to multi-task and work well under pressure.

Location: Calgary, AB

Position: Driver

Hours: On call basis, availability required Monday- Friday : 9:30 - 18:00

Wage: $24.96/hour and will increase as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement

MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ability to drive a van and 5 ton truck.
• Ability to lift and carry parcels, up to and including 70 lbs per piece, throughout shift.
• Demonstrated ability to work with customers
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and on-time within tight time constraints.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Complete assigned deliveries and pick ups and/or other tasks assigned by supervisor
• Meet security requirements
• Other warehouse duties as assigned by the shift Supervisor.
• Scan and process freight as per agreed procedures and Security Policies
• Move freight within the warehouse area as per requirements
• Accurately sort & process, by deadlines, in-bound material.
• Assist Tracing Department with thorough warehouse checks for missorts, on-hands, etc.
• Perform accurate reporting
• Participate in the organization and clean-up of the warehouse area.
• Participate in maintaining a safe and co-operative work environment

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalence
• Broad general working knowledge of warehouse functions.
• Good knowledge of MS Office. Comfortable Excel User
• Valid Class 5 drivers license
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Excellent ability to multi-task
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure
• Able to handle bulky, heavy, awkward shipments.
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Clean driving Record
• Shall be able to interact with customers over phone and at the Service
• Minimum one year warehouse / customer service experience (asset)
• Understanding of First Choice Programs and Global SOP (asset)
