Job summary

The City of Thunder Bay is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Program Coordinator to strengthen the Recreation & Culture Division’s volunteer program. You will recruit, train, engage, and support volunteers for programs, festivals, events, and community initiatives across the city.

You will work with staff and volunteers to create meaningful opportunities, ensure proper training, and recognize volunteer contributions.

Qualifications

• Experience in community development, recreation, and marketing is required.
• Two years’ experience in volunteer management, including supervising staff and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Set goals and develop policies for the volunteer program and related systems.
• Administer online volunteer management software and provide training and reports.
• Oversee volunteer screening, intake, and placement for programs.
• Coordinate orientation sessions and youth/new volunteer training; support staff and volunteers.
