Job description
Volunteer Facilitator – Pain Support & Wellness Groups

We are seeking volunteer facilitators to lead online Pain Support and Wellness Groups for communities across British Columbia. The role is open only to people who live in British Columbia and have lived experience of chronic pain.

Overview

Facilitators will co‑lead and support a 2‑hour online group session held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Sessions alternate between afternoon and evening times, and participants meet three to six hours per month, twice a month for one year.

Responsibilities
  • Co‑facilitate 2‑hour virtual Pain Support and Wellness Group sessions.
  • Create a safe, supportive environment for sharing experiences, coping strategies, and gentle movement exercises.
  • Use the training materials and ongoing support from Pain BC to guide the session structure.
Qualifications
  • Reside in British Columbia.
  • Have lived experience of chronic pain.
  • Commit to the 30‑hour volunteer training program.
  • Pass a criminal record check.
Training

The 30‑hour training comprises self‑guided online modules and live Zoom sessions. Live sessions will be held on Wednesday evenings (Pacific Time) from April 8 2026 through May 13 2026, 9:30 AM‑12:30 PM each week. Attendance is required for all live sessions, and modules must be completed between sessions.
