Job description

Youth Unlimited Edmonton desires to see every young person explore their potential, understand their worth and discover hope.

Volunteer Opportunity

Food Coordinator:

This role will provide you with the exciting opportunity to take your passions of being creative and serving in the kitchen and use them to help meet the physical needs of at-risk youth. For many of our youth, the meal provided here is their first meal of the day. You will make a difference in their lives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Arrive up to 1 hour before the program starts to help prepare food.
  2. Serve the meals at the drop-in, helping to make sure all students are served equally.
  3. Help clean up dishes and other food supplies.
  4. Be a friendly face to students as you serve them.
  5. Clean up and debrief with the rest of the leadership team.

Time Commitment:

  1. Drop-ins run from 3:30-6 pm 2 x per week after school at each drop-in across the city. We would love you to be at as many as you are comfortable with. Our preference would be at least one day a week, but this is negotiable.
  2. 1 hour, 3x per year for support/check-ins with team lead.
  3. 2 hours, 2x per year for training/appreciation.

As a relationally-focused program, you and your presence matter. Youth are looking for role models and stable, consistent adults to support them. So, if you want to take on a volunteer role with us, commitment is important. Relationships are built on stability.
