Volunteer Opportunity : Food Coordinator

This role offers a chance to combine your passion for cooking and service to meet the needs of at-risk youth. For many youth, the meal provided is their first of the day, and your contribution can make a real difference.

Responsibilities

• Arrive up to 1 hour before the program starts to help prepare food.
• Serve meals at the drop-in, ensuring all students are served equally.
• Assist with cleaning dishes and food supplies.
• Be a friendly and supportive presence for students.
• Participate in clean-up and debrief with the leadership team.

Time Commitment

• Drop-in sessions run from 3 : 30-6 : 00 pm twice a week after school at various locations across the city. Ideally, volunteers attend at least once a week, but this is flexible.
• Support / check-in with the team lead for 1 hour, three times per year.
• Attend training and appreciation events for 2 hours, twice per year.

As this is a relationally-focused program, your consistent presence matters. Youth seek stable role models and supportive adults. Commitment helps build meaningful relationships.
