Responsibilities

• Provide professional security services per airport requirements.
• Patrol airport properties to ensure safety of people and property.
• Escort and monitor contractors and trades in secure areas.
• Verify contractors have temporary passes and access rights.
• Operate a company vehicle when required.
• Report security breaches and safety hazards promptly.
• Respond to emergencies and assist responders when needed.
• Provide first aid and exceptional customer service to the public.

Location: Victoria International Airport (YYJ) - Sidney, BC

Wage: $23.00 +/hour

Are you a customer service star who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment? We are looking for professional, reliable, and customer-focused Security Guards to join our team at Victoria International Airport (YYJ) .

As an Airport Security Officer, you will play an important role in maintaining a safe and secure environment while providing exceptional service to airport contractors, employees, passengers, and the public.

We are looking for candidates to support:

• PESO Officers $24.46/hour
• Patrol Officers $23.16/hour
• SOC Operator $25.10/hour

Your Main Duties

• Provide professional and specialized security services based on client and airport requirements.
• Patrol airport properties and designated areas to ensure the safety of people and property.
• Escort and monitor YYJ contractors and trades in secure and sensitive areas of the airport and airfield.
• Ensure contractors have valid temporary passes and are authorized to access assigned areas.
• Operate a marked company vehicle when required.
• Follow and enforce airport, client, and company rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Identify and report security breaches, safety hazards, suspicious activity, and other irregularities.
• Respond to emergencies and contact appropriate personnel and emergency responders when required.
• Provide first aid and medical assistance when required.
• Provide exceptional customer service and respond professionally to questions and inquiries from passengers, contractors, employees, and the public.
• Complete accurate reports and maintain clear communication with supervisors and airport personnel.

Requirements

• Valid BC Security Worker Licence (Security Guard designation) – required.
• Eligible to work in Canada.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the required Transport Security Clearance .
• Valid Class 5 required for applicable positions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service skills and a professional, approachable attitude.
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working in a fast-paced airport environment.
• Airside Vehicle Operator Permit (AVOP) – an asset.
• RAIC – an asset.
• OFA Level 1 – an asset.
