Job summary

BDO Canada LLP is seeking a Vice President (Manager), M&A and Capital Markets to join the Advisory team. This replacement role will lead diverse advisory assignments including sell-side, buy-side, and capital-raising mandates.

You will develop client relationships, perform market research and financial analyses to drive decisions, identify targets, and mentor junior staff while contributing to growth and practice management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting and/or related major with a CPA, CFA or CBV designation.
  • Minimum of 4–5 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in capital markets/corporate finance.
  • Motivated, detail-oriented, autonomous, rigorous and able to work under pressure.
  • Willing and able to travel; market-facing with relationship development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead advisory assignments (sell, buy side, and capital raising) and manage day-to-day execution.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships and oversight of engagement operations.
  • Conduct market research and financial analysis to evaluate drivers of performance.

Your Opportunity

We are seeking a Vice President (Manager), M&A and Capital Markets to join the Advisory team. This is a replacement role.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a range of advisory (sell, buy side and capital raising) assignments concurrently assuming responsibility for the day-to-day execution and delivery of service on projects
  • Develop and maintain client relationships, both internal and external, including accountability for the operational aspects of client engagement
  • Conduct market and industry research, detailed financial analysis and evaluate key drivers of financial performance
  • Assist in the identification of potential acquisition targets, purchasers and/or investors/lenders
  • Generate new business opportunities within the M&A and Capital Markets practice and BDO in general, developing long-term relationships and networks
  • Be entrepreneurial in nature to drive growth and practice management in our growing team
  • Mentor and develop junior level team members

Your experience and education:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting and/or related major with a CPA, CFA or CBV designation
  • You have minimum of 4-5 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in capital markets/corporate finance
  • Motivated, detail-oriented, autonomous, rigorous and able to work under pressure
  • Strong work initiative and the ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas
  • The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel, when necessary
  • Motivated to be market facing and driving relationships that lead to future work

The expected range of compensation for this role is $88,000 - $134,000/ year
