About this Position

The Vice President, Finance and Administration, holds a pivotal leadership role overseeing Financial Services, Facilities Management, Information Technology Services, Human Resources, Internal Audit, Event and Theatre Services, and Business and Retail Services. Reporting directly to the President and Vice Chancellor and serving on the Executive Leadership Team, this position ensures MRU’s long-term financial stability, operational efficiency, and strategic alignment. Responsibilities include providing strategic advice to the President and Board of Governors, overseeing financial planning, and serving as a liaison with governmental bodies and external partners. The Vice President will lead financial and administrative operations, championing budgeting practices, risk mitigation strategies, and compliance with standards. This role involves fostering strategic engagement and relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to advance institutional objectives.

Candidates should hold a relevant undergraduate degree, complemented by an MBA or a professional accounting designation (CPA or CFA). Substantial leadership experience in financial or administrative roles within public-sector or higher education environments is required. Demonstrated expertise in transformational leadership, strategic financial management, risk assessment, and communication skills are essential.

The successful candidate will exemplify MRU’s leadership competencies, including strategic vision, inspirational leadership, resource mobilization, innovative problem-solving, and strong ethical standards.
